Many of us choose to live in the latitudes that we do to be “at one” with nature and all its beauty.  We choose nature because of the profound effect it has on our human senses and emotions.  Nature is visually pleasing, smells great, feels strong, and sounds awesome.  Thus, nature produces a relaxing, soothing effect that envelops our bodies.

The purpose of the Chocolay River Trading Company is to bring the benefits of nature even closer to our lives – into the home.  Thus, the Chocolay River Trading Company’s goal is to provide more than just beautiful, quality furnishings; we want to create in your home the experience that natural furnishings bring.

The beauty of natural furnishings is that even if a home isn’t located “at one” with nature, its beauty can be brought into the home.  Our store located on US-41 in Harvey just outside of Marquette embodies this idea.  The five lanes of asphalt outside our door are part of the most traveled road in the Upper Peninsula.  All the reasons we choose not to live in busy urban areas exist 100 feet from our front door.  However, once you step inside the store all of “that” goes away. 

It’s not what’s outside, but what’s inside that really counts.  We live inside our homes – make the inside of yours count.
